Chiropractic

Chiropractic was first proposed by Daniel David Palmer. It is a form of natural medicine which involves working on the spinal column to bring it back into balance and combat certain symptoms.

Palmer discovered the importance of manipulating the spinal column, and the fact that by making certain adjustments to the vertebrae and other osteo-articular components he could treat certain conditions by removing their original mechanical causes.

Chiropractic is used to treat stiff necks, conditions affecting the neck-back-arm complex, backache, lumbago, sciatica and some types of cephalea.

It is important to take a scientific approach and consider chiropractic as one amongst various possible therapies and not just the only solution.
The diagnosis is very important in chiropractic. The serious practitioner will carry out a careful examination of the spinal column and the basin of the vertebral arteries by means of X-rays and orthopaedic and neurological tests. On the basis of the results obtained, he will decide whether or not to intervene.
