This is the ultimate type of "fun fitness", practised by the Californian champion Christabel Zamor.


 

An aid to losing weight, toning up, and improving your control of your body.
The lessons last between 30 and 60 minutes, depending on the level. There are no limits on age and weight. You can lose 100 calories every 10 minutes throughout the lesson-period, strengthening your abdominal, quadricipital and pectoral muscles, slimming the waist and reducing the loved or hated “love-handles”.  This discipline is based on a sophisticated use of the Hula-hoop, a famous plaything in the 1950’s. To be specific, the movements involved in hula-fitness are aimed at burning away fat by hitting the hips in a targeted way.
 
Compared to other sports disciplines, hula-fitness has a number of advantages which make it  practical for everyone:

  • It is easy to practice and so is suitable for people of every age
  • There are no particular negative effects
  • It helps keep the cardio-respiratory system in good shape, so preventing the onset of cardio-vascular diseases
