The Marche region boasts a variety of spa centres, all in beautiful green settings and offering holidays characterized by relaxation and well-being. The re-named AspioTerme spa centre stands inside the Monte Cònero Regional Park, in the province of Ancona. According to a legend the waters here were imbued with their therapeutic powers after the Madonna di Loreto drank at the spring. This spa centre is an ideal holiday destination for a family: indeed, there is a huge play area for children. A visit to the Cònero Regional Park is a must. This is an area rich in natural treasure, boasting unusual geological features and rare wild-life. A series of paths throughout the park allow access to the visitor.
Moving on to the area of Ducato di Montefeltro, here, in the green hills between Pesaro and Urbino, we can find the Terme di Carignano.  These spa-baths are set in a huge park of ancient trees, which lend a calming and health-giving atmosphere. Their closeness to the sea allows one to combine a visit to the spa with an enjoyable seaside holiday. One can also visit historic villages, churches, and  monasteries in the surrounding area, such as Cartoceto  and the Sanctuario della Beata Vergine delle Grazie; the Gothic church of S. Maria dell’Arzilla at Candelara; the Camaldolite monastery of Monte Giove at the entrance to the town of Fano.
The baths of San Vittore are sited 7 kilometres outside Ancona. This little village, lying deep in the Sentino valley, is chiefly famous for its church of the same name, one of the most significant Romanesque monuments in the region. It is also interesting to visit the nearby archeological park, the Parco Archeologico Regionale di Sentinum, not far from Sassoferrato. Here you can see the remains of a Roman Bath and the Grotte di Frasassi.  In the province of Macerata Feltria you can find the Terme di Sarnano, one of the most famous spa centres of the region. This picturesque medieval village near the Sibillini Mountains was awarded the Orange banner for its high environmental standards. It makes an ideal base for trips into the mountains.
A “Beauty Farm” has recently been opened at the spa centre, offering beauty and relaxation treatments. The springs of Montegrimano, 44 kms from Pesaro and Urbino, have been well-known since ancient times. Amongst the various therapies on offer, a special recommendation goes to the chocolate-therapy, a sweet, soothing massage to make you feel cherished. The little town of Montegrimano is perched on a spur overlooking the Conca valley. A C15 bell-tower dominates its central square. Finally, we come to the historic Terme di Acquasanta (AP), even praised by writers of the Roman era such as Titus Livius. There is a notable pool with a sudatory grotto adjoining. One should also visit the Monti della Laga and the Monte Gemelli: these mountains are situated in the Gran Sasso National Park.
