Sardegna, with its clear sea, temperate climate and long hot season is one of the most popular holiday destinations. Holidays in Sardinia are synonymous with free-time and fun, but they can also be a time of relaxation and well-being, thanks to the island’s spa-baths, which are proving to be an increasingly popular destination. The baths of Terme di Fordingianus (OR) have been well-known since Roman times. The imposing spa centre provides visitors with sulphurous water, which gushes at a temperature of 54°C from a channel with a lion’s head at its mouth. The local people still use this water to wash their clothes and working tools.                                                        The re-named spa centre of Sardara boasts historical remains dating from the time of the Nurags. The springs that rise there, classified as alkaline bicarbonate hyper-thermal, are excellent for skin beauty-treatments, to combat ageing of the skin and acne. The clay-based muds also possess similar beneficial properties.                               The Terme di Tempio Pausania is situated in the heart of Gallura, on a high plateau surrounded by pristine mountains. The water here is oligo-mineral, and ideal for hydroponic therapy, in particular the treatment of calculus disorder and infections of the urinary system.
